When it comes to Rusk County recreation, we have it all! From museums to the great outdoors, we have all types of recreational activities to fit any guest or resident. Here are some fun members of the Rusk Area Chamber of Commerce that are all about play!
The Ice Age Trail, one of only eleven National Scenic Trails in the United States, is a thousand-mile footpath highlighting Wisconsin's world-renowned Ice Age heritage and scenic beauty. Though the entire Ice Age Trail covers a great distance, it has multiple access points and traverses a wide variety of landscapes. Whether you are looking for a short, after-work jaunt, a multi-day backpacking adventure or a once-in-a-lifetime thru-hike, there is a segment of the Ice Age Trail that will match what you are seeking.
The Blue Hills Chapter, which includes the Ice Age Trail through Rusk County, formed in 1992. Most of the Ice Age Trail through this area was designed and built in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Our members continue trailblazing with ongoing Trail maintenance projects and construction of new Trail routes.

Opening in 1948, the Miner Theatre is one of the few single screen movie houses left in Wisconsin that is still showing first run movies in an original 1940s atmosphere, with the presentation of digital sound and sight. Designed by premiere theatre architects of the day, Liebenberg and Kaplan, the Miner was the flagship of the Miner Amusement Co. and featured many luxuries of the time, such as, a sunken lounge, heated sidewalk, box sections, stadium seating, specialized acoustics, and air conditioning.
The Miner Theatre is a family-friendly classic movie theatre located in beautiful downtown Ladysmith, Wisconsin. We feature evening shows and weekend matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Looking for a place to advertise? We have a 27-foot screen with a captive audience before every show!

The Rusk Rider ATV Club was founded in 2002. Our goal is to keep growing the sport of ATV/UTVing in Rusk County. Our Club helps maintain our trails north of Weyerhaeuser. We currently have 24 miles of trail and are always working towards getting more trails open. We played a key role in getting a route opened in the City of Ladysmith and the Village of Bruce including access into Bruce from the West. We conduct an ATV Safety Course each year and have worked with local Ambulance and Fire Departments to do mock crash trainings. We like to promote ATV/UTVing by being visible in our community through participating in local parades and having a booth at various events. Our meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of each month (April through November) at the Swamp Road Sportsman's Club west of Ladysmith starting at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. If interested in joining our club, don't hesitate to contact us.
